The preliminary proposals by the Publication Forum expert panels for changes to level 2 classifications of publication channels are now available in the JUFO Portal.
During spring 2026, the panels have reviewed publication channels at level 2, drawing on proposals received from the scientific community, balanced representation across different fields of research, and quality and impact indicators used to support the evaluation. The panels re-evaluate level 2 every four years. The preliminary proposed changes to level 2 are available in the JUFO Portal by selecting Other filters → Forthcoming level changes.
Members of the scientific community may comment on the proposals by submitting justified proposals for changes to publication channels at level 2 in the JUFO Portal until 31 August 2026.
Submitting proposals requires logging in. The levels now published are preliminary, and further changes may still be made before the panels confirm the final classifications in autumn 2026. The changes will take effect at the beginning of 2027.
