The preliminary proposals by the Publication Forum expert panels for changes to the classification of publication channels at Level 2 are now available in the JUFO Portal.
During spring 2026, the panels reviewed publication channels classified at Level 2, taking into account proposals received from the research community, balanced representation across disciplines, and quality and impact indicators used to support the evaluation process. The research community is invited to comment on the proposals and submit justified change requests until 31 August 2026. The panels reassess Level 2 classifications every four years.
The classification change proposals published now are preliminary and may still be revised before the panels confirm the final classifications in autumn 2026. The changes will enter into force at the beginning of 2027.
The preliminary proposals for changes to Level 2 classifications can be found in the JUFO Portal. To view them, select Search Criteria → Other Search Criteria → Upcoming Classification Changes from the menu on the left-hand side. The proposed classification changes can be viewed without logging in. However, submitting change requests requires logging in. Users can log in to the JUFO Portal using an Eduuni ID account.
