Publication Forum is a classification of publication channels created by the Finnish scientific community to support the quality assessment of academic research.
Changes to the classification
The level rating of 271 journals will be downgraded from the beginning of next year.
Grey area journals to level 0
The evaluation of the grey area journals continues at the autumn meetings of the JUFO panels. From the beginning of 2025, MDPI and Frontiers journals, where publication cannot be recommended without reservation, will be downgraded to level 0.

Publication Forum review of ratings in 2022
In 2022, the Publication Forum expert panels carried out a re-evaluation of JUFO levels 2 and 3. This report describes the implementation and main features of the 2023 classification.
