Publication Forum is a classification of publication channels created by the Finnish scientific community to support the quality assessment of academic research.
Publication Forum panels for the term 2025-2028
The Publication Forum steering group appointed new panels for the term 2025-2028 on 30 September 2024. A total of 294 experts were selected for the panels.
Changes to the level ratings of publication channels
Publication Forum expert panels decided to downgrade 60 journals to level 0 from the beginning of 2025 based on the research community's feedback on the quality assessment practices of scientific journals.

In addition to scientific publication channels, the new portal also includes professional and general journals. The old portal will be closed during the summer.
Publication Forum review of ratings in 2022
In 2022, the Publication Forum expert panels carried out a re-evaluation of JUFO levels 2 and 3. This report describes the implementation and main features of the 2023 classification.
Publication Forum self-evaluation 2010-2020
The report examines the international context and organisation of the JUFO classification, the characteristics of JUFO levels as a quality indicator of universities’ publishing performance, and the trends of scholarly publishing in Finland.

The Steering Group of the Publication Forum has updated the user guide for the Publication Forum classification. The user guide contains recommendations on the responsible use of the classification.
